Cluster description:

HAD domains (HAD stands for L-2-haloacid dehalogenase) homologous cluster includes domains with following signatured motifs: DxDxT and GDxxxxD motifs in classical HAD-like domains (P-type ATPase; Aravind et al., Trends Biochem Sci., 1998; PMID: 9584613), DxD and E motifs coordinating Mg2+ in Toprim-like domains (Aravind et al., Nucleic Acids Res., 1998; PMID: 9722641) and PIN-like domains (Burroughs et al., J Mol Biol., 2006; PMID: 16889794), MIDAS metal-binding motif (DxSxS) in vWA-like domains (Burroughs et al., J Mol Biol., 2006; PMID: 16889794), as well as domains whose signature motifs were degraded, but they have high structure similarity with other HAD-like domains.
