Insecticidal presynaptic neurotoxin that induces neurotransmitter exocytosis. Binds to neurexin-1-alpha (NRXN1), latrophilin-1 (LPHN1), and receptor-type tyrosine-protein phosphatase S (PTPRS), and induces neurotransmitter exocytosis through two calcium-dependent mechanisms (membrane pore formation and signaling via latrophilin) and a yet to be defined calcium-independent mechanism (By similarity). The toxin forms channels with 0.55-0.58 nm entrance diameter and a relatively small conductance in planar phospholipid membranes.
